Moderator approval

I was assuming that as soon as we launch, I would turn on a Drupal feature that requires moderator approval for signup.

So the site signup form would *become* the FBR registration form. I think I've got all the same fields, but Woods let me know if I'm missing anything. I probably have to make the membership type more granular so the user can choose "regular member - $30/year" separately from "regular member - $45 for 2 years."

You can see the signup form here. (You might have to log *out* of the site if you see a permission denied error.)

After someone fills out that form, it would go into a queue that Woods could approve, assuming he has received payment.

Clarification on my earlier post

What I'm suggesting below is that we could pre-fill this form for users who are already paid-up members and save them the hassle. We already have the data, and I can easily import it. The question is whether we notify users by e-mail, snail mail or some other method.

We could also post a PDF or Word copy of the registration form for people who prefer paper. Then Woods would maintain that info using the online form and view it on one of these pages. (Note: These will only work if you're logged *in*.)

http://fbr.onlineconcepts.com/profile

So the web site database becomes our authoritative source for member information. At any point in time, we're looking at the same info as our members.

Bad e-mails

Regarding bad e-mail addresses, the system sends notices whenever a message bounces to an e-mail. These currently go to webmaster@floribamariders.com, but we could add treasurer@floribamariders.com also. I like Woods's suggestion of sending instructions to the Yahoo list and communicating bounced messages with the chapter VPs.
